Hi, I’m Jennifer, your personal stylist. I’m based in Southampton, where I live with my husband and young son.
I’ve always loved fashion and I was always the person who everyone came to for fashion advice or to borrow clothes from.
Growing up as a dancer, I’ve always valued creativity and self-expression – I love how clothes and accessories can be used to express our personality and individuality and how staple pieces can be dressed up or down, so our wardrobes can be simple, yet versatile.
I’m very much a people person and my forte is understanding people’s needs and helping them to find solutions. Early on in my working life, I worked in marketing and communications for large corporate companies. Eventually, I realised that the corporate world wasn’t where I wanted to be - there was something missing. I hired a life coach and began to consider how I could use my skills and experience to find a new, more fulfilling career. We explored what I loved doing – dance, theatre trips, travel and walking in the countryside - yet our conversations kept coming back to shopping. So, my new career began…
I carried out professional personal styling training and gained experience, working with clients one-to-one in John Lewis’ personal styling department. After discovering that this is what I was meant to do and how flexibly it would fit in with my family life, Jennifer Jones Styling was born.
After I had my son and became a mum, I found my relationship with fashion and clothes changed. With little time to focus on yourself and the ever-changing needs children have as they grow and develop, it is no wonder that our wardrobes are not front of mind, but like they say – happy mum, happy baby/children – so making time for your self-care and feeling good in what you wear is so important.
As a result of my career background and personal journey, I have a great understanding of the needs of my clients. For women who are in the corporate world or transitioning from a corporate role to a different career, I can advise on what to wear for work to combine comfort, versatility and professionalism. As a mum, I can empathise with how your busy life can lead to losing your sense of style and I can advise on a comfortable, practical, yet effortlessly stylish wardrobe. For new mums and mums-to-be, I can help with comfortable and stylish maternity and postnatal wear, clothing for ease when breastfeeding and how to adapt your wardrobe to the changes in your shape, size and lifestyle. No matter where you are in your journey - I’m here to help you rediscover you, feel amazing every day and find your style confidence.
I love what I do and empowering mums with the skills and knowledge to shop and dress with style and confidence is the most rewarding part of my work.
